Drumah…

dear, you carry endless tales as you flow through life
You’ve seen many like me in countless forms.
I’m curious, dear river, to witness how you flow to them

That day, you spoke of how rain, your love, completes you with its touch.
“How you overflow and embrace all your emotions, dear river—
I am eager to experience the same.

“You know, I seek him,
Yet the closer I get, the farther I am.”
He arrives in the morning with the brightest light,
And at night, with a soothing glow, to bring comfort.

“Yesterday, the wind whispered to me,
‘oh dear tree Why are you lost in love’s mystery?
The earth loves you deeply,
Yet your heart belongs to the sky.'”

Dear river, tell me the truth,
Am I the fruit of the earth’s love,
That nurtures me to reach my love above?
“Whose love is pure, I ask—

The earth’s, which roots me and helps me grow,
My own, devoted and patient through the years,
Or the sky’s, which comforts me from afar?”
